Institute of Material Science and Sustainability
About Us
Funded over $20000, Institute of Material Science & Sustainability has emerged with backing from institutions like Columbia and Duke University.
Unlike other research mentorship opportunities, we stay true to our mission: working with a select group of passionate high schoolers and dedication ourselves to their growth. Every three months, we choose 15 standout research proposals from a pool of applicants. These teams embark on an intense three-month journey where they receive hands-on mentorship, personalized guidance from partnered professors, and necessary funding needed to effectively carry out their research. Upon graduation, alumni have access to the organization’s network and initiatives, and can request resources for research, conferences, publishing, etc.
